Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing shot. This production method comprises a cutting step for obtaining a granular product by cutting a wire formed from an iron-based alloy and a heat treatment step for heat treating this granular product. The iron-based alloy contains C, Si, and Mn as additive elements and the C content of the iron-based alloy is 0.40 to 0.90 mass%. Crystal grains having an average crystal grain diameter of 4 µm or less are produced in the iron-based alloy by the heat treatment step.
