Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing silicone particles having oxyalkylene groups on the surface, the silicone particles including dialkylsiloxane units according to general formula (1): R4 2SiO2/2 (R4 is a C1-6 monovalent hydrocarbon group), and poly(oxyalkylene)methylsiloxane units according to general formula (2): (R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 monovalent hydrocarbon group, R2 is a C1-6 divalent aliphatic group, and n is a number satisfying 1≤n≤50), wherein the production method involves polymerizing a composition containing (A) an organopolysiloxane having radical polymerization reactive groups, (B) a polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone having radical polymerizable groups, and (C) a redox-based radical polymerization initiator, at a low temperature of 50°C or lower while the composition is dispersed in water. Provided thereby is a method for producing silicone particles having hydrophilic groups that can be dispersed easily in aqueous materials without using a dispersant or surfactant.
