Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SOPHOROSE LIPID
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/050413
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an efficient method for producing a glycolipid biosurfactant, particularly a lactonic sophorose lipid at a low cost, wherein the method includes culturing a microorganism which produces the biosurfactant by limiting oxygen supply.  According to the invention, a lactonic sophorose lipid can be preferentially produced, and further, the lactonic sophorose lipid can be easily recovered in a solid form.  In addition, by hydrolyzing the thus obtained high-purity lactonic sophorose lipid, a high-purity acidic sophorose lipid can be produced.  Further, a lactonic sophorose lipid having potent antibacterial or antifungal activity and an antibacterial agent and/or an antifungal agent containing the sophorose lipid are provided.
