Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a stretched fiber, which can prevent fiber whitening and in which stretchability is unlikely to be affected by the fineness of a fiber bundle. This method for producing a stretched fiber by passing a fiber through a stretching chamber that has a fiber inlet open to the external environment and that stores a stretching medium having a higher pressure than the external environment, to stretch the fiber, the method comprising: a step for supplying the stretching medium in a state of a liquid having a higher pressure than the external environment, to the stretching chamber; a step for stretching the fiber in the liquid stretching medium in a state of a liquid having a higher pressure than the external environment; and a step for discharging the stretching medium through the fiber inlet, wherein the stretching medium is boiled before being discharged through the fiber inlet.
