Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a flame retardant resin composition which exhibits excellent thermal stability and which contains a styrene-based resin and a brominated polymer type flame retardant. In the production of a styrene-based flame retardant resin composition using (A) a brominated polymer type flame retardant, (B) a styrene-based resin, (C) a stabilizer and (D) liquid paraffin or an epoxidized vegetable oil, at least the brominated polymer type flame retardant (A) and the liquid paraffin or epoxidized vegetable oil (D) are mixed and then melt kneaded at a resin temperature of lower than 210°C using an extruder.
