Abstract:
Provided is a method of producing a superconducting accelerator cavity that enables support structures to be simplified and the inner surface of a product to be smoothed when welding. The method of producing a superconducting accelerator cavity involves producing a superconducting accelerator cavity by axially arranging a plurality of half cells (15) having openings (equator (13), iris (11)) on both ends in the axial direction, and then joining an attachment section (21), where corresponding openings come into contact with each other, by welding. The half cells (15) to be joined are arranged in such a manner that the axial direction extends vertically, and a recess (25), which recedes toward the outside in the inner peripheral surface positioned at the bottom of the attachment section (21), is formed in the half cell (15) positioned at the bottom, and the attachment section (21) is joined by penetration welding from the outside.
