Abstract:

A method of producing a superconducting wire comprising a step (S3) of drawing a wire in the form of a material powder of a superconductor coated with a metal, a primary rolling step (S8) of rolling a multiconductor wire following the wire drawing step (S3), and a primary sintering step (S10) of sintering the multiconductor wire following the primary rolling step (S8). At least between the wire drawing step (S3) and the primary rolling step (S8) or between the primary rolling step (S8) and the primary sintering system (S10), steps (S4, S7, S9) of holding a clad wire and a multiconductor wire or a multiconductor wire alone in an atmosphere of reduced pressure are provided. Consequently, a high and uniform performance superconducting wire can be obtained.
