Abstract:
Provided are: a method for producing surface-modified metal oxide microparticles that is for producing surface-modified metal oxide microparticles that have excellent dispersion stability in dispersion solutions having a variety of compositions; surface-modified metal oxide microparticles that are produced using said production method; a surface-modified metal oxide microparticle dispersion comprising said surface-modified metal oxide microparticles; a solid product formed using said surface-modified metal oxide microparticle dispersion; a method for producing the aforementioned surface-modified metal oxide microparticle dispersion; and a method for producing the aforementioned solid product. The surface-modified metal oxide microparticles are produced by a method that includes coating at least some of the surface of metal oxide microparticles with a polycyclic aromatic compound having a specific structure and having a hydroxy group or a glycidyl group.
