Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing synthetic gas with good energy efficiency in small facilities using a PSA method for recycling carbon dioxide gas. This method for producing synthetic gas introduces at least a hydrocarbon gas, oxygen gas and carbon dioxide gas as starting gases and generates a synthetic gas mainly from hydrogen and carbon monoxide by a catalytic reaction between the starting gases and a catalyst. A combustion reaction and reforming reaction are carried out in a prescribed low-pressure range in a reformer when the reformer operates with the heat necessary for the reforming reaction appropriated from that arising in the combustion reaction by simultaneously carrying out a hydrocarbon gas combustion reaction and reforming reaction in a common reaction zone in a reformer filled with a common catalyst. The carbon dioxide gas present in the synthetic gas that is generated is separated by adsorption using a PSA apparatus, and this gas flows back to the reflux path and is recycled without compressing the recycled gas removed from the adsorption column in the PSA apparatus.
