Abstract:
A method for producing a thermoelectric converting material that is represented by the chemical formula X3T3Z4 (wherein: X represents one or more elements that are selected from among Zr, Hf, Y, La, Nb and Ta and contain Zr or Hf; T represents one or more elements that are selected from among Ni, Co, Cu, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt and contain Ni; and Z represents one or more elements that are selected from among Sb, Ge and Sn and contain Sb), said method comprising: a step for preparing a material containing one or more elements that are selected from among Zr, Hf, Y, La, Nb and Ta and contain Zr or Hf, a material containing one or more elements that are selected from among Ni, Co, Cu, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt and contain Ni, and a material containing one or more elements that are selected from among Sb, Ge and Sn and contain Sb; a step for melting the materials containing desired elements that are selected from among Zr, Hf, Y, La, Nb, Ta, Ni, Co, Cu, Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt, Ge and Sn to give alloy A; and a step for melting alloy A with the material containing Sb to give alloy B.
