Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition that involves using a twin-screw kneader to melt-knead a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer. The twin-screw kneader has at least two stock material inlets including a first stock material inlet, and a second stock material inlet that is provided to a position separated downstream by 15D-38D from the first stock material inlet, where D is the cylinder inner diameter of the twin-screw kneader. The elastomer is fed in in a divided manner from the first and second stock material inlets, the proportion of the elastomer that is fed in from the second stock material inlet being 10-60 vol% of the total amount of elastomer. The elastomer is melt-kneaded in a kneading zone the length of which in the cylinder axis direction of the twin-screw kneader is 0.5D-20D, and one or more of the kneading zones is provided between the first and second stock material inlets and to the downstream side of the second stock material inlet.
