Abstract:
This method for producing foamed particles comprises impregnating a foaming agent under heating in thermoplastic polyurethane particles dispersed in an aqueous medium in a sealed container, and discharging the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic polyurethane particles from the sealed container together with the aqueous medium so as to foam the particles, thereby producing thermoplastic polyurethane foamed particles having an apparent density of 100-300 kg/m3, wherein the foaming agent is a physical foaming agent comprising mainly carbon dioxide, the thermoplastic polyurethane particles contain 300-2000 ppm by mass of an inorganic powder, and the pressure inside the container at the time of discharge is greater than 2.5 MPa(G) but no more than 4.0 MPa(G).
