Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a thermoplastic resin which includes steps 1 to 3 and which provides a molded article with minimized yellowing and excellent transparency.
Step 1: A step of placing a starting monomer in a reactor and melting the starting monomer under a vacuum of 1 mmHg or less.
Step 2: A step of replacing, after step 1, the gas phase part inside the reactor with inert gas with the starting monomer melted.
Step 3: A step of placing, after step 2, a catalyst in the reactor and polymerizing the starting monomer to produce the thermoplastic resin.
