Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a three-dimensional cell structure of living cells such that a scaffolding material can easily be removed, and the resultant three-dimensional cell structure has a desired three-dimensional structure and exhibits a function. Specifically provided is a method for producing a three-dimensional cell structure having a desired three-dimensional structure, the method being characterized by comprising: a step in which cells and a heat-sensitive responsive polymer capable of a sol-gel transformation at 4°C to 37°C are mixed to prepare a cell-containing polymer solution in which the heat-sensitive responsive polymer has been dissolved; a step in which the cell-containing polymer solution is used to form a gel of the cell-containing polymer solution that has a desired three-dimensional structure; a step in which a three-dimensional cell structure is formed by culturing cells in the gel; and a step in which the gel of the cell-containing polymer solution is converted into a sol, and the heat-sensitive responsive polymer solution and the resultant three-dimensional cell structure are separated.
