A method for producing a tooth profile component, wherein: a raw workpiece includes a rounded portion and a first projection; a shaping die includes a first recess and a second recess; the rounded portion is made to abut against a tooth-profile shaping portion of the shaping die; the first projection is inserted into the first recess; a second projection is formed at the time of forming a tooth profile portion on the outer section of the raw workpiece by applying a load thereto; and when said load is at the maximum thereof, there is a space between the tooth profile portion and the tooth-profile shaping portion, between the first projection and the shaping die, and also between the second projection and the shaping die.
