Title:
METHOD OF PRODUCING A TRANSPARENT LUMINOUS SLIDE BY RESIN TRANSFER MOULDING AND SYSTEM THEREFORE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/090447
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Transparent luminous slide production method by resin transfer; and system for producing the same. Slide is revealed as transparent and color since the resin which is used in manufacture of the slide is in transparent colour. Basically, it gives light effect without using any electric equipment; and therefore without the need for additional investment or maintenance. It is natural as much as the sun; and its use is cost-free. System lifetime has restrictions compared to the product which is used in solutions that are made by means of electric lamps, LEDs, transparent paints, etc. Contrary to these, the transparent luminous slide system is eternal - lived. As long as the slide works, not any additional maintenance for the transparent luminous slide system will be required.

DESCRIPTION

METHOD OF PRODUCING A TRANSPARENT LUMINOUS SLIDE BY RESIN TRANSFER MOULDING AND SYSTEM THEREFORE Technical Field

The invention relates to lighting of slides.

The invention relates to particularly transparent luminous slide production system using method of molding by resin transfer which ensures lighting of slides without requiring any electric lighting, LEDs, transparent paints; or similar means of energy of light.

The State of Art and Brief Description of the Invention

Almost all of the firms in the worldwide slide industry make their productions by means of open die method. In the techniques known in the industry, as a general practice, they perform these kinds of lighting or entertainment-purposed functions by means of known effect technics. These are added as subsequently incorporated features in form of mounting lighting fixtures to slides; coloring by means of using various electronic, laser, projection techniques.

In this framework, thanks to the invention, production of transparent luminous slide pieces is realized as a part of the production method of molding by resin transfer.

The invention can be adapted to slides which are produced employing method of molding by resin transfer; and not any electric equipment is used. Therefore, additional investment, maintenance requirements are gone away; and the cost of electricity use and related risks are also eliminated. It is natural as much as the sun; and its use is cost-free.

In products which are used in solutions that are made by means of electric lamps, LEDs, transparent paints etc., lifetimes of the systems are limited. Contrary to these, the transparent luminous slide system according to the invention is eternal - lived. As long as the slide works, not any additional maintenance for the transparent luminous slide system will be required. Thanks to the transparent luminous slide system according to the invention, there is no risk of giving structural harms posed by the transactions, such as drilling, cutting, etc., which might be encountered in the subsequently - mounted systems because it is manufactured on the factory floor; and is produced as integrated with the product.

7- Fiber Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention is luminous slide production system using method of molding by resin transfer; and luminous slide which is obtained by means of this method. Since resin which is used in the manufacture of slides is in transparent color, embodiment of the slide is revealed as transparent and colored. The piece which will constitute the slide embodiment is prepared by means of using the boss (1 ) and the upper mold (2) that are prepared beforehand.

On the internal surface of the boss (1 ) and the upper mold (2), which is given in Figure 1 ; light marks (3) are drawn in form of linear lines that are parallel to each other. The said light marks (3) can be drawn both later; or they can also be constituted during the production of the molds (1 , 2). Therefore, they are continuously available on the molds (1. 2). Masking tape (4) of the same width is applied on to the said light marks (3). After placement of masking tape (4) on to the molds (1 , 2), colored opaque paint (5) is applied on to the molds (1 , 2). (Figure - 2).

Immediately after application of colored opaque paint (5), masking tapes (4) are removed; and the colored opaque paint (5) is left to become cured.

After the colored opaque paint (5) on the molds (1 ,2) completes its curing; after an area in size of the light marks (3) that is left blank using masked tape (4) is appropriately cleaned, colored transparent paint (6) is applied in suitable thicknesses to the clearances which are left blank; and the paint is left to dry (Figure 3).

And as a last stage, sequence of fiber (7) laying to the boss (1 ) is initiated. In this stage, laying of fiber (7) that is in conformity with the physical performance criteria expected from the piece is done. Fiber (7) is used to provide physical strength to the piece (Figure 4).

Since the same processes are applied on the internal surfaces of the boss (1 ) and of the upper mold (2); the upper mold (2) can also be thought to have the same layers with the same processes in location of the boss (1 ), which is indicated in figures 2, 3 and 4. Only the upper mold (2) is lacking fiber (7). The process of laying fiber (7) is not applied to the upper mold (7).

At the end of this stage, the upper mold (2) is closed onto the boss (1 ); and the sequence of resin injection to the clearing which is found between the molds (1 , 2) is initiated. The resin which is used for injection must be absolutely transparent (colorless). During injection process, a counter - vacuum is applied for compression of the molds (1 , 2); and for easy advancement of the injected resin; and it is ensured that the containers (1 , 2) which are under vacuum are not leaking from any point.

After the resin injection process, the resin is left to become cured; and the molds (1 , 2) are opened up; the piece is removed. The pieces are obtained in a manner which is given in figure 5. Slide is formed by means of adding these pieces to each other.
