Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TYPOLOGY OF HUMAN CONGENITAL CORNEAL DYSTROPHIES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/139496
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. In order to produce a typology of human congenital corneal dystrophies, including an investigation of type I stromal lattice dystrophy, at least three types of human congenital corneal dystrophies are differentiated and diagnosed according to an anatomical level of damage, specifically dystrophy of the epithelium and of the anterior limiting membrane; stromal corneal dystrophy; dystrophy of the posterior limiting membrane and of the posterior corneal epithelium, on the basis of complex pre-clinical laboratory, molecular-biological, immunological, immunohistochemical, morphological, electron-microscopic, clinical opththalmological, and apparatus and instrumental investigations of the visual organ, and apparatus and instrumental investigations of systems and organs of the human organism, and also a medicogenetic consultation. Furthermore, on the basis of the defined type of human congenital corneal dystrophy, surgical treatment is carried out depending on the anatomical level of damage, and patients with said type of congenital dystrophy are provided with preventive treatment.
