Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene porous membrane, the process involving: a step of forming a film by using an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene material; a step of biaxially drawing the obtained film in the x-axis and y-axis directions at a temperature higher than or equal to the melting point of the film and lower than or equal to 180°C; and a pore-forming step of drawing the drawn film in the x-axis direction and/or the y-axis direction at a temperature between 142°C and 170°C. Alternatively, the invention relates to a method for producing an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene film, the process involving: a step of forming a film in two stages, i.e., by press forming and roll forming, by using an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene material; and a step of biaxially drawing the film obtained in the aforementioned step in the x-axis and y-axis directions at a temperature higher than or equal to the melting point of the film and lower than or equal to 180°C. With the aforementioned production methods, it is possible to inexpensively and efficiently produce an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene porous membrane having high gas permeability, or an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene film having excellent uniformity and gas barrier characteristics.
