Abstract:
Disclosed are: a method for producing an ultra high strength member having a tensile strength (TS) of 1,180 MPa or more, by which an ultra high strength member having excellent delayed fracture resistance can be produced by hot pressing at low cost; and a use of the ultra high strength member.
Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an ultra high strength member, wherein a steel sheet is heated at a first heating temperature that is within the temperature range of 700-1,000˚C, then the steel sheet is formed into the shape of a component at the first heating temperature and started to be cooled at the same time, and the resulting is formed into the aimed shape by shear punching after the completion of the cooling. After the shear punching, the resulting ultra high strength member is subjected to a first heat treatment wherein the ultra high strength member is heated at a second heating temperature that is within the temperature range of 100˚C or more but less than 300˚C and held at the second heating temperature for one second to 60 minutes. The thus-obtained ultra high strength member has a tensile strength of 1,180 MPa or more.
