[Problem] The present invention pertains to a method for extracting a vanadium component included in combustion fly ash, clinker, etc., and producing a vanadate. [Solution] A method for producing a vanadate in which a vanadium component is recovered from within combustion fly ash or clinker to form a vanadate, wherein the method includes the following steps 1 to 5: (1) a step (step 1) for adding a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to combustion fly ash or clinker so as to reach a water content of 5-35% by mass; (2) a step (step 2) for performing mixing or kneading; (3) a step (step 3) for heating the mixture resulting from the mixing or kneading; (4) a step (step 4) for adding water to the mixture that has undergone the heating step in step 3 to form a slurry; and (5) a step (step 5) for performing solid/liquid separation on the slurry and then recovering the vanadate in a liquid phase.
