Abstract:
A method for producing a vapor composition containing lactic acid, whereby: at vaporization, the formation of by-products such as acetaldehyde and carbon monoxide due to the heat decomposition of lactic acid and the like can be regulated; lactic acid oligomers thus formed can be efficiently utilized without any loss; and the vapor composition containing lactic acid can be industrially produced in a stable state over a long time at a high efficiency. The method according to the present invention for producing a vapor composition containing lactic acid comprises: mixing a liquid composition containing lactic acid, said liquid composition being supplied into a vaporizer, with a liquid composition containing lactic acid oligomers, said liquid composition being held in the vaporizer; and heating the obtained liquid mixture and thus vaporizing a portion of the liquid mixture to thereby generate a vapor composition containing lactic acid.
