Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING WATER-ABSORBENT RESIN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/163849
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for producing a water-absorbent resin, wherein the method can efficiently yield a water-absorbent resin and the obtained water-absorbent resin has a high water absorbency under no pressure. [Solution] A water-absorbent resin production method comprises a polymerization step and a drying step. The polymerization step yields a hydrous crosslinked polymer gel by the polymerization of a monomer composition comprising an internal crosslinking agent and monomer. The drying step yields a dry polymer by drying the hydrous crosslinked polymer gel. The hydrous crosslinked polymer gel supplied to the drying step contains at least 50 ppm hydrogen peroxide with reference to the mass of the solids fraction of the hydrous crosslinked polymer gel. In addition, heating is carried out such that the maximum attained temperature of the hydrous crosslinked polymer gel in the drying step exceeds 160°C, and/or heating is carried out such that the maximum attained temperature of the dry polymer after the drying step exceeds 160°C.
