Abstract:
A method for producing xylene, which comprises: a conversion reaction step wherein a product containing a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon having 6-8 carbon atoms is produced by bringing a starting material that is mainly composed of a light hydrocarbon having 2-7 carbon atoms and a crystalline aluminosilicate-containing catalyst (Z) into contact with each other; and a xylene conversion step wherein the product is subjected to a disproportionation reaction or a transalkylation reaction.
