Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a yarn with which detachment of a filler from a cylindrical member can be reduced while suppressing production costs. In order to produce a yarn obtained by filling a cylindrical member with a filler, this method for producing the yarn is provided with a step in which a wire material (8) is knitted to form the cylindrical member. In the step in which the wire material is knitted, a plurality of knitting needles disposed substantially concentrically around a rotational axis are used to knit the wire material, while said knitting needles are being made to rotate around the rotational axis. When a knitted stitch (7) is formed using the wire material, an arc-shaped loop section (10) defining one section of the outer shape of the knitted stitch is provided to the wire material so as to protrude in a direction slanted with respect to a straight line (12) along the axial direction of the cylindrical member when the cylindrical member is in a deployed state.
