Abstract:
Disclosed are: a method for production of a calcium carbonate dispersion for oil printing, which is reduced in transportation cost compared to a conventional one and is significantly improved in productivity; a calcium carbonate dispersion for oil printing which is produced by the method; and use of the dispersion. The method comprises the steps of: moistening 100 parts by mass of at least one body pigment with 15 to 160 parts by mass of a moistening agent containing at least water, wherein the at least one body pigment is selected from the group consisting of a calcium carbonate powder whose surface is treated with a resin acid and an organic bentonite powder whose surface is treated with a quaternary ammonium salt; and dispersing the moistened body pigment in a varnish for oil printing ink and then removing moisture from the resulting solution.
