Abstract:
A method for producing a catalyst, comprising the following steps (i) to (iv) in this order: (i) immersing an end face of a carrier structure having a catalyst component carried thereon in an aqueous metal salt solution in a concentration of 2.7 to 3.88 mol/L in terms of molar number of the metal; (ii) drying the resulting carrier structure; (iii) immersing the carrier structure again in an aqueous metal salt solution that comprises the same metal as that in the aqueous metal salt solution mentioned above, in a concentration of 2.7 to 3.88 mol/L in terms of molar number of the metal; and (iv) firing the resulting catalyst structure to harden the end face of the catalyst structure.
