Abstract:
A method of producing cement capable of reducing chromium (VI) compound contained in a cement clinker without spoiling quality of the cement clinker, comprising adding an inflammable material having a combustion rate equal to, or lower than, the combustion rate of a main fuel and having a greater particle size than that of the main fuel to a to-be-baked material existing within the range from a position about four times the kiln diameter D away from the exit side of the to-be-baked material toward its entry side of a rotary kiln (2) to the exit, or existing at an entry portion of a clinker cooler (4) so as to form an atmosphere having a relatively low oxygen concentration.
