Abstract:
A method of producing a poly-V groove pulley by sheet metal working. A ring-like peripheral wall, which is a thickened periphery of a substrate portion is clamped, and the ring-like peripheral wall is elongated so as to form a drum wall and a preparatory lug portion protruding from the base portion of the drum wall. Then a poly-V groove and a lug portion having a structure of a further protrusion of the preparatory lug portion are formed on the drum wall. According to this method, the lug portion is formed by forming in advance the preparatory lug portion and then allowing it to further protrude. Therefore, even when a sheet metal material is thin, the lug portion of a single layered-structure having a sufficient expansion quantity can be obtained.
