Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing a polycarbonate containing a plant-derived component
and represented by the formula (3) by the melt polycondensation of a diol with
a carbonic acid diester, wherein the diol contains Na, Fe and Ca at a total content
of 2 ppm or less, has a purity analysis value of 99.7% or greater as measured by gas
chromatography and is represented by the formula (1), and wherein the carbonic
acid diester contains Na, Fe and Ca at a total content of 2 ppm or less, has a purity
analysis value of 99.7% or greater as measured by gas chromatography and is represented
by the formula (2). (1) wherein R1 to R4 independently represent
a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an
aryl group. (2) wherein R5 and R6 independently represent
a group selected from an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an aryl group, provided
that R5 and R6 may be the same as or different from each other.
(3) wherein R1 to R4 independently represent a group selected
from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an aryl group; and
n represents the number of repeating units.
