Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for production of a seamless pipe, which comprises the steps of:
applying a carbon-containing lubricating agent onto a mandrel bar; producing a
base tube using a mandrel mill equipped with the mandrel bar on which the lubricating agent
has been applied; and reheating the base tube in a reheating furnace. In the reheating
step, an oxidizing gas is supplied to the inside of the base tube when the temperature
of the base tube becomes 550 to 1000˚C inclusive.
