Abstract:
A method for promoting the growth of green algae, in which green algae that store astaxanthin are irradiated with artificial light so as to promote the growth of the green algae in a green motile cell state, is characterised by alternately and continuously irradiating the green algae with red illumination light and blue illumination light, and growing the green algae in a liquid culture medium while maintaining the culture solution of the green algae in a green or brown state.
