Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for promoting methylation of a lignin model compound benzyl alcohol by applying microwaves. The method includes adding 1 part by weight of a lignin model compound containing a benzyl alcohol and 0.005-3 parts by weight of a catalyst to a microwave reaction tank, and reacting same for 1-60 min at a temperature of 100ºC-200ºC with 20-800 parts by weight of methyl alcohol as a methylation reagent, wherein the microwave power is set at 50-1000 W and the microwave frequency at 2450 MHz ± 15 Hz; and immediately quenching the reaction with cold water after the completion of the reaction, extracting the reaction liquid with ethyl acetate, removing the organic phase and spin-drying same, and performing chromatographic separation and purification on a crude product through a silica gel column so as to obtain a methylated product. By means of the method, various lignin model compound benzyl alcohols can be methylated in a green, simple, safe and efficient way.
