Claims Method of protection of filled single- or multi-layered bags-in-box against damage during transport , characterised in that upon filling the bag-in-box with the fluid or semi-fluid substance in hermetic and aseptic conditions , still maintaining continuous hermetic and aseptic conditions a neutral gas , preferably nitroge , is inserted over the surface of the substance into the bag-in-box , the said gas being in quantity required for lifting the top part of the bag-in-box. |
bags-in-box against damage during transport
The object of the invention is a method of protection of filled single- or multi-layered bags-in-box against damage during transport.
So far, various types of separators placed between the filled bag-in-box and the container have been used in order to protect bags-in-box against damage during transport. Said separators have been formed , for example, in cardboard , Styrofoam or similar materials. Said separators do not protect the bags sufficiently since the long-term vibrations , swinging and hits of the fluid or semi-fluid content of the bag against the internal surface of bag walls occurring during transport cause machanical damage to the bag layers , in particular at its top part , or to the welds at the top part of the bag . This , in turns , causes the loss of tightness of the bag and the loss of asepticism of the bag content. Thereby , the bag content loses its fundamental properties and is not suitable for use.
The subject matter of the invention consists in that upon filling the bag-in- box with the fluid or semi-fluid substance in hermetic and aseptic conditions , still maintaining continuous hermetic and aseptic conditions a neutral gas, preferably nitrogen, is inserted over the surface of the substance into the bag-in- box , the said gas being in a quantity required for lifting the top part of the bag- in-box.
The preparation of a bag-in-box for transport using the method according to the invention is conducted as follows: A bag-in-box , in particularly having a large capacity , placed in a transport container , is filled with feedstock , i.e. a fluid or semi-fluid substance in the required quantity. For example , a bag with capacity of 100 1 of feedstock was prepared. The filling takes place in conditions ensuring sterility. Subsequently , still in the sterile conditions a neutral gas, preferably nitrogen , is inserted over the feedstock surface. Said gas is fed in such quantity that the top wall of the bag-in-box is lifted upwards and does not bend or is not deformed under the pressure of the feedstock moving during transport.
The method according to the invention allows preparing bags-in-box of any capacity and any structure , including with single- or multi-layered walls , for safe transport.
The protection of a bag-in-box using the method according to the invention causes that the neutral gas inserted over the fluid or semi-fluid substance lifts the top surface of the bag upward , and thereby prevents the top layer of the fluid or semi-fluid substance from touching the bag wall. Thank to that, during transport , even over large distances , the swinging feedstock , i.e. the fluid or semi-fluid substance , does not hit against the bag wall , in particular its top part , and mechanical damage to bag wall layer in its top part or to its welds does not occur. During transport of a filled bag-in-box which is protected using the method according to the invention , the bag is not subject to flexible bending and unbending as a result of swinging of the bag content , and as a consequence the bag with the feedstock is not damaged and does not lose tightness and the condition of asepticism of the feedstock is met.
