A method of protective rearrangement in MPLS system comprises that any node(s) find the fault in the MPLS system, and retrieval the label switched path associated with the fault; the node finding the fault sends the alarm indication signal bearing the fault information to the host-end node in the associated label switched path respectively; said host-end node will enable the protective rearrangement process after it receives the alarm indication signal. The present invention can increase the rate of the protective rearrangement process about the label switched path, and meet the requirement for the telecommunication-level protective rearrangement process performance.
