Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing an alternative phone service for automatically switching an originating call between a basic phone network and an alternative phone network, and to a method for inducing a subscription to the cheaper phone charge side by notifying the calling party or the called party of the reducibility of the reverse phone charge according to whether the call is made through a basic phone or an alternative phone. According to the present invention, since a call can be automatically connected to a basic call or an alternative call according to the call state of the called party, burdensome manipulations can be reduced and a cheap charge calling scheme can be preferably selected. In addition, by notifying non-subscribers to or non-users of the alternative call service of a reverse phone charge, and recommending that they subscribe to or use the alternative call service, phone charges can be actively reduced.
