Abstract:
A method for providing point to point service in resilient packet ring. Classify and identify the access services of the RPR nodes, and establish a point-to-point service configuration table which includes the service identifier and configuration information corresponding to the static target point address; the adaptation layer searches for the corresponding item in said configuration table according to the carried service identifier after receiving the data frame, then judges whether the received service the data frame belonged to is point-to-point service, and if it is, judge whether to remove the service or not, and if not, extract the static target point address within the search result as the target point address the service transferred in RPR, and send to the MAC layer to process after the following adaptation operation. For non-point-to-point services, implement the second layer switch process. The present invention achieves the point-to-point configuration in RPR network, solves the problem that the prior RPR devices can not provide the dedicated line services according to provide the static target point configuration.
