Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for purifying HFO-1132 with high purity, by suppressing isomerization and loss of HFO-1132. Specifically, the present invention provides a method for purifying 1,2-difluoroethylene (HFO-1132), the method including, in the following order: step 1 for reducing the amount of water from a composition containing trans-1,2-difluoroethylene (HFO-1132(e)) and water, by bringing the composition into contact with a zeolite having an average pore diameter of 2-4 Å; and step 2 for recovering a purified product in which HFO-1132(E) and HFO-1132(Z) containing a reduced amount water are included in an amount of less than 0.1% by volume.
