Abstract:
Disclosed is a commercially advantageous method for purifying an alkylnaphthalene formaldehyde polymer that is reduced in the metal content. Specifically disclosed is a method for purifying an alkylnaphthalene formaldehyde polymer, which is characterized in that a solution that contains an organic solvent and an alkylnaphthalene formaldehyde polymer obtained by having an alkylnaphthalene and formaldehyde react with each other is brought into contact with an acidic aqueous solution.
