Abstract:
A method of purifying a water-soluble fluorinated vinyl ether represented by the following general formula (I): (I) (wherein Y1 and Y2 are the same or different and each represents halogeno, perfluoroalkyl, or fluorochloroalkyl; n is an integer of 0 to 3; the n Y1's may be the same or different; m is an integer of 1 to 5; the m Y2's may be the same or different; and Z represents a hydrophilic group), which comprises mixing an aqueous solution comprising the water-soluble fluorinated vinyl ether and an organic solvent (A) with an organic solvent (B) and removing the organic solvent (A), characterized in that the organic solvent (A) is one having the ability to coordinate with metal ions and the organic solvent (B) is one which is immiscible with water and in which the water-soluble fluorinated vinyl ether does not dissolve.
