Abstract:
The present specification provides a method for transmitting a random access preamble by a terminal in a wireless communication system supporting narrow band-internet of things (NB-IoT). Specifically, the terminal transmits a random access preamble to a base station according to a particular preamble structure on a subcarrier allocated by the base station and receives, from the base station, a random access response message as a response to the random access preamble. The random access preamble is repetitively transmitted 16 times for a predetermined period and then a gap is inserted for a predetermined time, wherein the predetermined period is determined by multiplying the transmission period, during which the random access preamble is transmitted, by the number of repetitive transmissions of the random access preamble.
