Abstract:
A method for rapidly evaluating slow crack growth resistance of a plastic pipe, comprising two steps, i.e., sample preparation and elongation test, comprising obtaining a cylindrical sample by means of injection and notch-crack pre-configuration, performing cyclic elongation test on the cylindrical sample by using a pulling force that varies as a sinusoidal function, and obtaining a relation function between a failure time and a stress range for evaluating slow crack growth resistance of the cylindrical sample. The method for rapidly evaluating slow crack growth resistance of a plastic pipe has the advantages of short test time, low cost, and good result reproducibility.
