A method for realizing a split-type television, comprising the following steps: a processor processes received video signals to convert the video signals into first signals that can be transmitted wirelessly; the processor transmits the first signals obtained after the conversion to a playing device; the playing device acquires the first signals obtained after the conversion; the playing device processes the acquired first signals to convert the first signals into video signals that can be displayed by a display screen. Embodiments of the present application further provide a split-type television, comprising: a video signal processing module configured to convert video signals into first signals; a transmitting module configured to transmit the first signals to a playing device; an acquisition module configured to acquire the first signals obtained after the conversion; and a first signal processing module configured to process the acquired first signals to convert the first signals into video signals that can be displayed by a display screen. In the embodiments of the present application, the aesthetic qualities of a split-type television can be improved, and the placement restrictions and space restrictions of the split-type television can also be reduced.
