Abstract:
In a method for recognising the moment when a granulated, crumbly, grained or sand-like solid or a solid or porous body is submerged in or emerges from a liquid, surface waves are generated in the liquid (22). The micro-waves (14) emitted by a field device (10) and reflected by the waves (32) are received by the same field device (10), analysed on the basis of the Doppler effect in an electronic circuit especially developed for that purpose, and retransmitted to a process control system.
