Abstract:
A method for recognizing the identity of a gemstone, the method comprising: measuring a gemstone after the processing of the gemstone is completed, so as to obtain a weight parameter of the gemstone and a geometric structure feature parameter of the gemstone, and saving the parameter information and a gemstone category to a gemstone identity recognition database (S1); measuring a feature parameter of a gemstone with an identity to be recognized (S2); and comparing the obtained parameter of the gemstone with an identity to be recognized with the feature parameter of the gemstone in the gemstone identity recognition database, so as to obtain a comparison result (S3). A database is built when a gemstone is formed, and when it is necessary to authenticate the identity of the gemstone, the weight of the gemstone and a geometric structure feature thereof are determined and compared with data in the gemstone database, so as to obtain a recognition result for the identity of the gemstone. This method does not damage a gemstone, thereby greatly protecting gemstones; moreover, it is very convenient to obtain the true and unique identity of the gemstone, thereby constructing a "firewall" for other activities, such as gemstone appreciation and trading, and thus having great significance.
