Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for recovering an acetic acid from a stream generated by an oxidation reaction of an aromatic compound in the preparation of an aromatic carboxylic acid. In order to separate water and an acetic acid from the stream, the water is removed through an extraction column and the acetic acid can be recovered. In particular, the stream discharged from a dehydration column is uniformly refluxed by using the extraction column so as to allow the discharged stream to include 1 to 45 wt% of acetic acid, thereby maintaining a high concentration of acetic acid. Therefore, the amount of steam used in a reboiler for evaporating water inside the dehydration column can be reduced.
