Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING GOLD FROM SULFIDE ORE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/156350
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This method for recovering gold from sulfide ore comprises: a first step in which sulfide ore or leach reside remaining after sulfide ore has been subjected to leaching is brought into contact with an acidic aqueous solution containing chlorine ions, bromine ions, copper ions and iron ions, while being supplied with an oxidizing agent, to leach out the gold component in a leach residue; a second step in which the concentration of bromide ions in gold leachate into which gold has been leached is maintained at at least 40g/L while maintaining the redox potential at 500mV (reference electrode, silver/silver chloride) or higher; a third step in which after copper (I) chloride is added to the gold leachate obtained in the second step, an oxidizing agent is added to adjust the redox potential to at least 520mV, reducing the quantity of monovalent copper ions in the gold leachate; and a fourth step in which the gold in the gold leachate obtained in the third step is adsorbed by activated carbon.
