Abstract:
A method for easily taking out a gas generator from a scrapped car and efficiently recovering metal materials from the gas generator. This method comprises the steps of: a) pulverizing a scrapped car having an air bag apparatus mounted thereto by pulverizing means adjusted so that the size of the shreds is substantially equal that of the gas generator, and separating the gas generator as a single substantially-unpulverized body from the air bag device, b) taking out the gas generator from the shreds of the scrapped car, c) charging the gas generator taken out into a melting furnace, and d) recovering the metal materials of the gas generator from the melting furnace.
