Abstract:
Provided is a method for recovering PGM from a material to be processed that contains PGM. Specifically provided is a method for recovering PGM from a material to be processed that contains PGM, which comprises: a reduction smelting step wherein a member to be processed that contains PGM, Cu and/or Cu2O and a flux are subjected to reduction smelting so that molten slag and a Cu alloy containing PGM are produced; and an oxidation smelting step wherein the Cu alloy containing PGM is subjected to oxidation smelting and then SiO2 is added to the molten Cu alloy so that Cu2O slag containing PGM and a Cu alloy having a higher PGM concentration than the above-described Cu alloy containing PGM are produced. In the oxidation smelting step, the PGM content in the Cu alloy is set at more than 0% by mass but 75% by mass or less.
