Abstract:
A method for recovering a complex catalyst remaining in a reactor for a hydroformylation reaction of an olefin in the presence of a rhodium-trivalent organic phosphorus complex catalyst dissolved in a solvent for the reaction after a liquid containing the complex catalyst is withdrawn from the reactor, characterized in that it comprises washing the inside of the reactor with a liquid not deactivating the catalyst, to thereby dissolve the residual complex catalyst in the liquid used for the washing, followed by recovering the liquid. The method can be used, when a liquid is withdrawn from a reactor for a hydroformylation reaction to carry out a periodical inspection or the like, for recovering a complex catalyst remaining in the reactor with good efficiency.
