Abstract:
A method for recovering zinc, indium and gallium from a waste IGZO target is provided. The method comprises the steps of: grinding a waste target composed of indium gallium zinc oxide, so as to generate a ground product; generating a mixture by adding a catalyst to the ground product; heating the mixture in order to remove moisture therefrom; adding a reducing agent to the heat treated mixture and layering same; using the reducing agent to form a protective layer so that the mixture is not exposed; injecting an inert gas into the mixture; and heating same at a temperature of 900-1,200°C to selectively separate out indium and gallium, thereby sequentially recovering same according to the recovery temperature, wherein the recovery temperature at which indium is extracted is 1,000-1,100°C, the recovery temperature at which gallium is extracted is 1,100-1,200°C, and, in the step of adding the reducing agent to the mixture, the mixture and the reducing agent are sequentially layered to be alternately repeated, and the mixture and the reducing agent can be added in a ratio of 1 : 1-3.
